Turning a Local Pizza Shop into a National Brand

Phase 1: Discovery

Peppino’s Pizzeria and Catering Company had been communicating on the local level since their inception. They approached our team looking to level-up their design to compete in a more expanded landscape. We worked with their great management team establish their brand as the premier vendor of old-world Italian specialties and catering cuisine, with a brand that could do justice to regional ambitions and national presence at pizza competitions, food service seminars, festivals and more.

Phase 2: BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Peppino’s strategic advantage is their unique dough manufacturing process, imbued with centuries of old-world Italian family secrets. It’s an art… and they wanted to embody that spirit in their visual identity. After several rounds of alternatives, we decided to move in the direction of combining an artistic flair with a staple of Italian cuisine. We presented a journey through various paint strokes, splats and expressive versions to land on the final brand mark for Peppino’s. After that it was time to give it a little bit of personality…

Phase 3: BRAND APPLICATION

A huge part of developing an effective identity for a company is determining the attitude and personification of the brand voice. By adding a bit of the wise-guy attitude to the copywriting of various ads and t-shirts, we created a strategy Peppino’s could implement into all their future print, advertisement and promotional materials.
